Adams County Dialysis Donates $1,000 to Quincy’s The Sammy Fund as Part of the “DaVita Way of Giving”
On Dec. 18, DaVita Adams County Dialysis presented The Sammy Fund with a $1,000 check as part of the “DaVita Way of Giving,” the company’s locally focused charitable giving initiative that helps nonprofit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.
The Sammy Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides rewarding activities for children with limited opportunities. The Sammy Fund helps send children to various camps, provides funding for children’s art programs, supports a variety of at-risk youth programs and other mentoring opportunities. DaVita teammates from Adams County Dialysis chose to donate to The Sammy Fund because the organization helps children to participate in meaningful activities that promote healthy, active living while expanding their knowledge of diversity throughout the community.
“They honor Sammy through their work with children, giving children opportunities to participate in activities that promote lifelong learning and develop interests that will enrich their lives,” said Susan Pierce, a DaVita patient care technician.
June and Chuck Otte of The Sammy Fund said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.
“We are honored to receive this support for The Sammy Fund so we can continue our mission of helping children participate in activities that better their lives and well-being,” said Otte.
